At Tamworth Community Gospel Choir, we come together from all corners of the town, bringing our voices, stories, and energy to every song. Gospel music is our way of connecting, celebrating, and sharing something bigger than ourselves. Whether on stage or in rehearsal, we create an atmosphere where everyone can express themselves, grow as a singer, and enjoy the thrill of performing together.
We enjoy learning new songs and developing the skills that help us present them with confidence, including controlled breathing, expressive singing, and harmonizing. Rehearsals can be intense and sometimes repetitive, but the sense of accomplishment we feel when everything comes together is truly rewarding.
Over the years, we have performed in a wide range of settings, including care homes, prisons, weddings, funerals, Tamworth Castle, and Symphony Hall, to name just a few.
There is also a strong social side to the choir. We get along well, and from time to time we enjoy evenings out together at gospel concerts or local restaurants.
The choir is supported by a dedicated management committee — our choir director, treasurer, and secretary — who ensure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.
